I wrote this when in a very tearful mood. Things will change a bit detail wise when i write the finished version, but the basic idea will remain the same for this scene.
So please enjoy and use plenty of tissues.
--------
It was quiet where I was, seating myself among the maps and scrolls, making notes with the ink from berries. Colors splashed across yellowing paper as though I were painting. He would laugh at me if he saw it, the intent expression I always had when I concentrated, which often caused my tongue to dry out.
This would lead to so much complaining back then, but now, I had less care about minor discomforts as I recalled places I had physically been and were they correlated on the map. Those were in a bright red. The places Sapphrin had been were in blue, and the battles were all in purple.
These things were all in my immediate focus, but something else caught my ears instead, jolting me out of my thoughts. Fingers dropped the quill and reached for my sword instead, familiar leather wrapped steel offered small comfort while I tore out of the small cabin and into the open air where I saw him.
The flying black mass was wavering dangerously, and when close enough to the ground, wings gave up and the beast landed with a resounding crash. Admittedly, I had small sympathy considering who it was.
"What are you doing here, Onyx? Did you finally come to kill me?" my voice was bitter even though it was evident that the dragon was worse for wear. Dark puckering gashes oozed fluids that were dangerous to lose, "Not that you would do a very good job."
The dragon did not respond in the way that he normally would have, instead he acted much as a child with bad news about to fess up to his parents about what a bad boy he had been, "Myde is dead."
Everything froze, my throat became like a narrow straw, grasping for air as I tried to fight for control. Shock would not overcome me and make me useless. I would not dare allow that, but my mind was having an entirely different idea about that. It would not comprehend anything other than the word, "How?"
Guilt obviously racked the poor wounded creature before me, bowing his head down to ME as he spoke to the ground. This was completely out of character for him, and I didn't want to try to figure out why as he gave his answer. I did not want to comprehend that the one person I loved was gone forever.
"While he was taking care of your sister, he had been found. I was scouting for Sapphrin, I did not think I would have found him at all, at least not like that." This voice was low as he continued to me, making my blood grow cold at every word, "Sapphrin had been claiming that he had kidnapped your sister, I had done what I thought was right at that time."
Every muscle in my body wanted to rush forward, to gouge the eyes out of the pathetic creature and tear apart his bones piece by piece until he was no longer recognizable. Yet, my brain wanted to hear this train wreck to the finish.
A cough as the dragon continued, only daring to look up at my once before immediately dropping his gaze, "I chased him, for a human he moved quickly, and I cornered him at the cliffs. It was there that he told me that Lady Talith had gotten the plague. That you had told him to protect her and try to discover a way to heal her. I had thought he was lying and I attacked him." Eyes slipped down further as breathing became labored.
"Was that when he died?" the words felt alien to me, even though they were thoughtlessly said.
Onyx shook his head at me, "No. I had demanded to be taken to Lady Talith. Though injured, for some reason that human had no capacity for ill will. He took me to her and when I saw he had spoken truth, I vowed to leave and never to tell anyone what I saw."
The rest did not need to be spoken, but I had to affirm my thoughts on it, "You were followed, weren't you? You led them right to her. You led them right to Myde!" My voice rose as anger was starting to chip away at the fraying calm I was clutching onto.
I did not want reality to be like this, to take away the ability to keep promises I made.
"I had, and when I thought I could have protected them, I had failed. Despite my efforts to protect the human and Lady Talith, I was over powered, the human killed, and Talith taken back to Sapphrin."
Words chipped away my wall and I had half a mind to use my sword as fingers clutched onto it, "You let them take her! You let them kill Myde!" Vision became blurry as I screamed at the mass, "He was not just a human, he was Myde! My Myde! How dare you! HOW DARE YOU!" my lips stretched back in agony as teeth sharpened and I took steps towards the beast.
"How dare you live while he is dead! Was it too much to ask for you to lay your life down for him? Did you not feel the need to risk your life for that human because he was just as you think of him, another human?!" It frustrated me even more that he simply remained submissive, not retorting or arguing at all. I could not discern if it was merely acceptance of his actions or the silence was in fact his way of refusing to accept it.
Denial started to fill my head and I kept myself from tearing his wings off completely, "Where is he, where is Myde." This caused surprise from the dragon.
"You do not know where he was hiding out? I would think you wou-"
"No!" I snapped harshly, "I explicitly told him to never tell me where he was because the information could have been intercepted and comprimised his safety. The least I expected was that you were working for Sapphrin and magically promised him that he would be safe!"
I continued with a harsh sound, "You were working for her, you still probably are! How am I to know that you didn't just go and kill him yourself and you are now a decoy to lead the rest of them here to kill me as well?!" Oh how my back itched crazilly to just fly and search. To affirm the truth for myself instead of relying on the words of an enemy.
"Now, where did you say he is?" I demanded again, claws digging into leather, starting to break into it as I clutched the weapon tightly. A moment of silence before I was warned of possible ambush and then given the location.
Ice was in my blood now, and I barked my next sentence, "You are coming with me, and if the words you tell me are true, and he is in fact dead, I will kill you myself for allowing it to come to pass at all."
The black dragon did not argue. Instead, he watched as I took the form that was between the two races, scales touching the rougher and hidden patches of skin. wings spreading from my back, nails elongating, and the sword was hurriedly attached to my hip before I launched from the ground, my sprouted tail aiding me in a straight flight.
Paitence failed me, as I glared back down to see if the black dragon was following. Slowly, he took off, but with silent resolve, he followed me. The back of my mind voiced concern that perhaps he really had tried his hardest, but the rest of me vehemently wanted to refuse such foolish thoughts.
The enemy always proclaimed to be my enemy, to be on her side and despise humans just as she. Always insulting the one I cared for with sharp words for him and the rest of his race. Nothing but hatred ever came from this being.
We flew, and it had not taken long, aside from when I would peer back to see the labored flight of the bleeding dragon. He would die soon anyway, put out of his misery when I would discover the truth. Not that he deserved a quick death, in all honesty my heart seemed set on something slower, a very slow death involving the plucking of each individual scale.
The world came down, and we landed, the place was a familiar one to me in appearance. Water would be near by which was both a smart and incredibly dumb thing to do, but Myde was not a military strategist.
"Myde!" I would yell out, desperation filled my voice before I realized I could smell something metallic, so I screamed out once more, "Myde! Talith! Where are you?!" Sounds were made after the black dragon's crash landing and hopes started to warm me slightly.
It was possible this was all some terrible waking dream, that Onyx was lying and that I would find them safe and in one piece, merely taken hostage to lure me here to my death.
I could accept that, to be lured. If it meant they were alive, I would have begged for that situation. Yet no, from behind a mass of sparse leaves, something moved and a heavy form dropped down from a branch, bouncing in a sickening way as I heard the cracking of a bone and the rigor set of the thing that started sweeping back and forth on a make-shift noose that was around a neck.
A statement was made before me, and I could see the maker, one whose skin was like tar, shining and ever moving, porous warts threatening to pop at the slightest pressure. Stomach flipped as I drew out my sword and took it back, throwing it as hard as I could to cut the rope.
This failed, only nicking it as it lamely caught in a knot and was rejected by the fabric as nothing more than a nuisance. Eyes stayed on the creature, as I tried my hardest not to take in the details of the lacerated and broken body. To ignore the bloodied golden hair that stuck out in messed and frayed directions was near impossible and I fount my throat closing again as I tried to cry out at the creature who only laughed at my thoughtless attempt with the sword.
Laughter made me cold, it made me forget the small shame at trying a stunt so stupid. My vision became unclear once more and I shot forward, wings pushing me before I snarled and dug my claws into the nearest branch and snapped it off with ease. The next motion was the one that caused the squeltching sound as I thrust branch into body, followed by slamming it into the trunk repeatedly.
Never so badly did I want to tear it limb by limb, and nearly I did, except for the small voice of violent reason that said if I did so, my death would prevent me from exacting the punishment on Onyx. The tar creature would have to die in the way I chose, smashing it into the ground before taking in a deep breath and exhaling a final blow.
One of flames full of rage, black fire, as it engulfed the creature and turned it green. A high pitched squeal hit the air as popping noises followed the boiling and soon it would keep being on fire with the branch, eating away at the moisture unnaturally and burning there. The smell burned my nose.
"Pity, I thought anger would have made you kill yourself while killing him." A regal voice spoke, one belonging to something so high and mighty it could only have belonged to a dragon. The particular one slinked out of the water, sporting the color of a muddy sort of green. It camouflaged well and the creatjure wore it like he was gold.
Eyes flicked over as I restrained my feelings of wanting to thrash him terribly, a coldness seeped into my voice, "If I did that then I would not have been able to kill you and the other." my hand rose and pointed back at Onyx without fail, but it still trembled.
A laugh as the towering beast came towards me, leaning his maw down towards my face, "Little one, you act as though you can destroy me with that little tooth pick of yours. See now the failure of your ways. I will make sure your passing is slow and torturous just as the human's was."
Snarls and voices broke into almost a screech, "YOU HAD NO RIGHT TO EVER TOUCH HIM!" Bones shifted painlessly, body elongated, neck started to soar out from its place and the perception of what was low and high to me changed. Clothes tore from my body in the change as I brought my mouth down to snap at his neck.
His head came up and smashed into my jaw, causing it to smash shut as my balance was throw off to the side and I collided into a tree. Little time passed as the dragon dove, pinning me down as he dug claws into my breast bone and back feet into my abdomen.
Pain pricked at me, but rage kept me from feeling the full effects and instead I thrashed around, fighting the weight on my neck to snap at his other hand and at his face when it came anywhere near close to biting though something vital.
Loss was not an option, I refused to let this idiot take me down. Thoughts raced through my head and I uttered a spell, which I botched terribly, as instead of burning him, it flashed light into his face. The distraction served well and I flung him off and into the pond, splashing up water in all directions.
Rolling, I slipped as I shoved off to take him apart, keeping my claws out, I dug down and sprung into the water, sloshing in as he was already getting up and turning to meet me. It was in the air we clashed, it was in the air that I moved forward to grip not his throat, but the thin avian-like bone structure that protected his head. My maw would clamp down onto bone and bite down as hard as I could, subsequently having my claws follow suit with the act of digging into every weak point they could find.
It was in the water my enemy tried to drown me, as with biting, I did not have the ability to adequately hold my breath. My main concern was to bite though and rip that disgusting heart out and every organ I could claw out and spread across the earth and destroy so that no part may have been allowed to be used for anything what so ever.
As we splashed down, my nostrils took in the liquid, causing a burn as it made its way into my lungs to choke me. Gagging reflex tried to force my mouth to relinquish its hold, but I refused and instead I bit down harder, feeling the fracturing under my teeth. More force was applied as my vision grew dark, and the thrashing would worsen, trying to pry me loose from him like a stubborn leech.
Weakness started to wear on me as I felt the need for oxygen rise, but I was not done yet. Finally, I heard the sound I wanted the bone to make and I yanked head back and away, using my front hands to push the rest of his body opposite.
What resulted was the very messy business of death, crimson mixed with the blurring back, flesh tore under my teeth and muscle snapped and strained against the yanking as more bone snapped and came up with it like a fence, the curved bone showing brightly as I released it and drove onward, locking teeth into the thumping panicky heart and tearing into it without seeing. Textures of sweet iron mingled in my mouth with the pond water as the muscle stretched to its limit and tore away and I spit that away too.
This went over and over, the enemy was still twitching, my movements becoming sluggish as I still was water logged and soon I started to feel cold once more. Adrenalin was short lived, and black crimson enveloped me.
It seemed that it should have remained that way, but something dragged me out with some trouble, but they did it anyway, drawing me onto the ground while letting out labored breaths.
Anger lingered, but in less copious amounts. There was an ambush. Myde was dead. Onyx had been telling the truth, but I also swore to kill him if all were true. Why, this one time, did I refuse to follow through on a threat to someone who I hated.
Snarls mixed with hacking filled my throat as I forced water out and air in, shaking my head to loosen any trapped liquid and clear my vision. It was weak, but I managed words anyway, "Where is Myde..."
"Over by the tree. I took him down, I did not know that they planned to do that to him." he admitted in a quiet words before adding, "I assumed all of the dragons had left with Talith instead of just the two."
Reluctance in acknowledgement, but I spoke anyway, "You did warn me of ambush..." Then, I let my form melt away into one that was human, giving less of a damn that I now lacked clothes. Modesty was the least of my concerns, and my hair hid enough as it was.
Silently, I dragged myself up and stumbled over to the body, vision being less than helpful. When I would start to stray, the bleeding hand of Onyx would assist. I would snarl and shove it away, determined to do this on my own.
Yet, he was persistent, and eventually I found the body. It was turned face up, and at that moment I wished it had not.
The tar creature had taken care in the method of killing, stabbing in a place that was not immediately lethal, but letting him bleed out while he poisoned parts of the skin and then cut them away. Skin along the neck, chest, and face was missing, but I knew it was still him.
This was still my Myde. The weight drowned me, and I gripped his hair tightly as I pressed my face to his and forced my throat to open up enough to at least speak, tears streaming down my face.
"I will stop them, Myde, I promise. I won't let anyone else die like this if I can help it." Voice choked as I could feel my nose burning and lump form thickly in my throat again. A wavering breath as I continued, "I love you, and I always have. To the stars, Myde. Wait for me there, I will be there soon, just finish your song for me."
The tears would stop as the lump in my throat grew from trying to stop them. Lifting my head up I looked over to the black dragon who was politely looking the other way, but as I bore my gaze into him, he looked back to me.
"If you want to even begin to gain my forgiveness, you will do one thing for me, High Mage. As I irrefutably cannot cast a single spell without failure, you must use what strength you can, I do not care how much, and you will build him something proper. I will not have this man die without proper remembrance."
The black dragon would bow his head, then stand up shakily and near the water and started to murmur as the slain body was swallowed up by the water and the earth, vanishing from existence. The earth then moved as he continued to intone the words to life, ground served as a base, stones following in a specific pattern and then the stone and earth intertwined with roots of the plants, essentially sewing the tomb together.
I watched in silence and as he quieted, he looked to me with exhausted patience, allowing me to scoop the man up and carry him. In silence I looked to his marred face before placing him into the shallow encasement. Silence before I leaned down and breathed softly into the box and said a very old prayer.
It was one I vaguely remembered my mother reciting when someone lost a loved one. Through the vagueness, I pulled out the words as if they were a new song of yesterday.
In the darkness,
shine brightest.
In the silence,
yell loudest.
With hatred,
share love.
With the sky,
be one with the stars.
Do not falter,
your soul will journey.
Peace will find you,
and you will find peace.
The body would remain still and I could feel the wind carry, the sound of it crossing the smoothed magicked stones caused a rippling effect of sound, almost like a living song. A final song for the bard, who laid and would soon be covered by earth, stone, and root, protected by Kaidia.
"To the stars..." I managed finally before standing straight and looking to the black dragon. An incredible amount of hate still filled me, wanting to scream blames at the dragon who gave the gift of a last song without question.
Instead, I locked my muscled into tension, not allowing them to falter, "Let's go. I have maps to finish and you obviously need food before you starve. Can you make it back."
Silence before he bowed down his bead before her, causing her to frown, "If that is what my Lady wishes, then I will do it. I, High Mage Onyx, swear loyalty to Lady Itisha until my very last breath."

Story Time!!! ~~~ MRI Blurb Idea for Anaia
So. wrote another blurb after reading about all of the fun Thor verse stuff for Marvel. Came across the Golden apples from the tree of Yggdrasil and only Idunn can pick them for the Asgardians to eat.
As far as I can see, the apples provide youth, vigor, and basically keep them in their prime and keep them from aging and getting weak. Anaia of course has been gone for a good number of years and obviously without the apples I imagine she would start having troubles with keeping up and all goddess wise.
SO... basic idea for this.
Anaia gets Itisha to send her home.
Anaia gets sent back right BEFORE the Bifrost is screwed up. (Itisha's rituals are buggy so the time bit gets warped)
Anaia lets her younger self go through everything that already happened as to not change anything because with her luck it would just make something worse (or Frost could have very likely succeeded summoning the serpent)
When it is time for younger self to go back again Via Itisha, current Anaia makes it a full circle and a day or so later with the help of Odin and Thor shows up once more and of course she is going to be excited to see everyone because in her eyes she has been gone for years when for them Anaia has only been gone for a day or so.
So... here is the blurb... it was just starting out to be more of a HAHA funny then inspiration hit and yea...
ENJOY!

"Oh he even is saying hello to your hallucination! He's a keeper!"
Still, it made him wonder what had been exactly said that made the goddess in the forge so uncharacteristically flustered when it was more often that she would be the one to be laughing at… whatever had been said, “Do I want to know?”
“No, you don’t want to know. I don’t even want to know.” Anaia muttered as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Laughter was still happening as tears were wiped away from Driga's eyes, “Oh goodness, dear, you are far too defensive. Not to mention far too worried about that subject. You like the man and it is obvious and he certainly has a fire for fight like you! The babies would be lovely! Why are you making me wait so long to be a grandmother?”

It seemed to be at the oddest times her mother would
show up… or rather the oddest times Anaia would hallucinate. Again her mother
took the form of the rabbit-looking form, making the goddess both happy and at
the same time a mite bit frustrated. Mostly due to the first words that came
out of her mouth.
“Well he is certainly cute.” Red eyes flicked over before she gave an impish smile to her
daughter, “So does that mean you will finally give me babies to hold?”
Being the only one to see or hear Driga made it a
little more than embarrassing as Anaia’s face flushed darkly when there was a
rather loud retort in the middle of Benjamin’s forge, “I AM NOT GIVING YOU
BABIES!”
There was a sudden silence as Ben seemed to stop in
the middle of whatever he had been working on to stare at her with a very
confused expression, “What?” The fact that she was looking off towards the wall
just made it a slight bit more puzzling.
Anaia felt even more flustered when he spoke, trying
to ignore the fit of laughter her mother had gone into. Oh if only looks could
kill, “Sorry Ben, I wasn’t yelling at you… my mother has decided to visit me.”
“I don’t see he-Oh… Tell her I said hello?” A small tidbit of information
that she had mentioned one time when explaining the rabbit on her armor which
had been that Anaia’s mother was the goddess of Insanity and because of blood
relation was able to cause hallucinations despite being up in Asgard.
"Oh he even is saying hello to your hallucination! He's a keeper!"
“Mother, shush and stop laughing!” Anaia pouted and seemed to
act far younger than her age would suggest, arms crossing over her chest. It
seemed far too human for someone who carried the title of goddess.
“Mother!” Anaia felt her cheeks burning with heat in
the already toasty forge before looking to Ben, “Just… just go back to working…
I need to have a conversation with my mother about timing.” With that she
started to stalk out of the forge leaving the poor blacksmith in the dark about
the subject.
“Anaia… your hair streaks are turning pink.” The
white rabbit woman would state with more laughter as her daughter continue to
stalk out of the Inn and just continued to walk, directing herself towards the
waterfalls.
“It’s your fault. Why are you even down here?” The
fresh air was far more helpful in calming her nerves, hair being brushed away
from her face as she took a deep breath.
“I can’t visit my only daughter?”
“It is never just a visit.” She sighed as the sound
of falling water brought a little more relaxation, hair fading back into its
normal colors, “What do you want?”
A slight frown as the head tilted, ears flopping to
the side before Driga sighed, “You always were far more intuitive than most
your age, but you are beginning to lose touch. Anaia, I want you to come home,
you are starting to act far too human.”
“You know very well that if I wanted to, I would be
there, Mother.” A frown formed before Anaia crossed her arms over her chest, “I
am not acting any differently than I usually do.”
“There is a reason that gods only walk among mortals
instead of living with them. You haven’t noticed that you have become exhausted
more easily?” Red eyes remained on green ones as the young goddess appeared
that she wanted to remain in denial even though eyes showed another thing
entirely.
It had been true, as of late she felt far more
sluggish than when she had first arrived, “Maybe it was just whatever the
Professor had done to me when the Bifrost had been destroyed. Besides we fought
with Frost as well. The bat was like a million times older than me.”
A pause as
Driga started thinking before she spoke with a softer voice, “There are also
more ways to get into Asgard than the Bifrost. If there is Valgrind and the
portal to Nighthaven, then wouldn’t you think there would be one to Asgard as
well.”
Silence stretched as Anaia’s expression hardened
when she stared at her mother, “Why didn’t you tell me before?”
“You had to stop Frost.” Was the soft response
before she gave a smile, “You still need to stop her, but you are growing
weaker by being here. You have not been here to eat Idunn’s apples for years.”
“Thor doesn’t have to eat them…” Anaia muttered, not
liking the idea of the one way trip even if there was truth to the matter.
Shoulders sagged heavily as she thought it over. The idea upset her, but
stopping Frost had more precedence, “How do I get home?”
“Your world-hopper of course, Itisha. Although I do
believe between her mishaps in the ritual and your chaos, there might be a
slight issue of… time.” The way
Driga’s voice trailed off made Anaia’s mind blank before jaw fell slightly.
“I’m already there!”
Eyes were wide as the rabbit woman nodded, “No wonder you knew I liked
rabbits!”
“Yes you mentioned it years ago. Although it had to
start somewhere, but you need to come back now so the self that is here can
come back there again with full strength once more. Your other self has even
gotten better at control of your abilities and even learned a few more tricks.
Taking after your father and your uncle both… such a force to be reckoned with
since you seem to have Loki’s intelligence and Thor’s love of battle.” Hand
reached out to her daughter’s face with a sweet smile, “I cannot tell you much
more than that dear just know that I am proud of you and I will see you soon.
Find the dragoness and continue the cycle.”
Breath escaped as the ghost-like hand touched her
cheek, tears starting to slip down her face, “I will see you soon mother.”
“Even sooner than that…” Driga chuckled before
adding, “You ought to say goodbye to your handsome friend though… the you here
is getting antsy at having to wait. Seems you are rather attached to your friends there.”
Face flushed again although she did not retort such
an idea, “How am I getting back here?”
“Ah, your uncle and grandfather have that covered.
Your idea of course.” Her mother perked happily, seeming excited at such a
prospect.
“If you say so, just so long as I don’t become
maimed in the process.” Anaia shook her head, knowing her ideas thus far tended
to cause trouble.
“No worries! You have a helmet to protect you from
any crashes!” Driga beamed as she started to giggle. Making Anaia smile weakly
before moving away from the hallucinated woman, “Go now my daughter. I love you
and I am proud.” With that the rabbit-woman vanished, leaving Anaia alone with
the water before she turned and started to walk to the Inn once more to say
goodbyes and blackmail a dragoness.

Story Time!!! ~~~ Anaia blurb thought for Multi-Realm Inn
I mostly blame Kai for this... well and John too. xD
My brain likes to write stories. I have no idea why it does... it just likes characters and playing out stories with them. Could be mine or other ones... probably the reason I like RPing so much. ANYWAY...
A sort of cute (not really my usual level of fluffiness but... it was already hard enough for me to write it.) story with Ben and Anaia involved. More heavily Anaia sided obviously... but my brain wasn't being very helpful. Just really like the character Ben when I read the character profile and thought he was a really cool character. Thus far also a fun roleplay partner as well behind him too which is always cool. :D
So without further adieu... here it is. Please enjoy... it isn't one of my best but I think I did more of less alright all things considered. Maybe one day I shall try writing it again when I get a better feel for the characters ^_^
YAY FOR WHAT-IF STORIES *cough*
Enjoy!

---------
Anaia was spent far past what she should have been.
Under any normal circumstances, she should have been knocked into an unconscious
much like the heavily armored blacksmith she was half dragging through the inn
and to the kitchen. It was stubbornness that kept her going despite muscles
rebelling with sharp cramping pain that shot through burnt extremities.
It was also stubbornness that kept her from crashing
down the stairs when gravity wished to win over instead. The process was slow
and thus far more painful than it should have been, even as she did her best
not to smash him against the other wall when a step was missed. How he slept
through her rather haphazard toting she would never know.
Finally making it down the steps without too much
mishap, the goddess paused feeling already warm from exertion the forge’s heat
felt like a thick wall of warmth. Considering what she had seen of the man, she
figured this probably felt more than comfortable to him and gave a weak laugh
to herself before moving driving forward once more towards the bed. With as
much grace as she could muster, which at that moment was lacking, Ben was half
flopped onto the bed, making her wince slightly and uttering apologies to the
still unconscious(and injured) man.
Something told her an explosion could have gone off
and he would have slept through it, although after recent events she was sure
an explosion would be far less painful. There was a pause as she studied him
before shaking her head to think of other things. Fingers began moving to
remove the larger pieces of armor to allow easier breathing at least and allow
any wounds that existed yet to heal without interference.
Despite the exhaustion, she felt the movements therapeutic
and calming. While doing so, mind ran through all of the recent events. There
would be no doubt that trouble would crop up again, but she was too tired at
that moment if trouble came. Perhaps she would sleep through it again… sleep
would have been nice. When finished Anaia had at this point tried to position
Ben comfortably enough, though she imagined he would be sore no matter what
when he would awaken.
It seemed her body wanted rest as well, especially
as she started to move away from adjusting him, although the first thought that
came to mind was her current distaste for stairs. Frankly, her body never
wanted to see another set of stairs again. No, apparently her body was going to
auto-pilot as the teeth of sleep sunk into her thoughts and the goddess, armor
and all slumped half-way onto the bed, head resting as one arm was tucked under
her head and the other stretched out slightly on the arm she had been
adjusting. It was there, amongst the
scent of armor and the forge that she fell into an easy sleep with pleasant
dreams involving fires and rabbits. Well… it was pleasant for her at least.

Reflection on the Past ~~ AWFF
Sometimes I read really old stuff. I mean REALLY old stuff from when I was in middle school. My first thought is 'Dear gods... I think I was practicing to be in a sit com drama' and other times I did have some pretty deep damn thoughts.
But a huge humongous part of my past was less real life friends, of which the few who count are still in my life or thought of in great frequency, and there certainly is no shining spot for assholes. All they got was a check in my list of 'Mistakes not to make again' and moved on.
No. A huge part of my life and what made anything terrible able to be solved was roleplay. I loved it. I adored it. It was writing and I could write with other people. The fact there was a surprise as to another actions fascinated me. I adored having a character less for matching them with characters (although this often happened because well it seemed inevitable with my characters. They like having personalities and tell me to write these things sometimes.)
but I loved being in the worlds. I loved having my character interact with others as if I was really there. As if Itisha was off beating the snot out of some punk jerk shaman or Mailia was off saving the world from heartless and blasting a giant ass hole in the door leading to the Second District in Traverse town.
My place I flourished was AWFF.
Roleplay and AWFF memories always went hand in hand. Kingdom Hearts ultimately went to AWFF.
All World Final Fantasy
My home away from home.
I found it searching for the full five minute version of Utada Hikaru's Simple and Clean. Which by the way was nigh impossible, but I did it. Right on AWFF's main page was that song. I poked through and they even had Legend of Dragoon on there and I was hooked in the awesomeness of it all.
Then I registered and poked through the forums and found roleplayers there. It was awesome. So in a stunt to just feel at home. I started the first in about 7 threads of Kingdom Hearts roleplay where Mailia grew. Changed. Personality formed. History made. Rose created. Both of them. Friends met, stories made and it was amazing.
At that time I must have been about gosh... I forget. I was close to being 12-13 years old. I met one of my closest friends (still close) Gin. Lived across the ocean from me, but it was odd that we clicked so well. We spoke easily despite the language barrier and we could talk when things drove us crazy. I was at that level of determined to at least catch an hour or two of chatting that I would wake up at 3 in the morning to match his time zone a bit and chat to him. I was a crazy youngster like that. Probably the only time I willingly went to bed early and woke up early ever back then. xD Because it certainly was not for school.
Certainly one of the very few men in my life that I cared about as more than a friend without ultimately wanting to murder them with my truck. Now he is in league with my small group of close best friends :D
Life whisked me away when AWFF went down without my knowing. I felt lost without it, although I was blessed to have a few friends I did keep in contacts from AWFF and those who weren't from there. They kept me sane. They roleplayed with me.
Even listened to my emotionally driven ranting I had to get off my chest. Such amazing people.
When AWFF came back (as I checked on a lark. Because AWFF was just that important to me) I was ecstatic.Even more so to see that one person there I would recognize without a doubt because hell he never changed his screen name. Gin.
I signed up, built a new little home in the rp section. Made a wonderous friend out of Vaidia (who is fantastic seriously. She freakin rocks the socks off stuff with her writing) who I believe I knew in the old AWFF but alas I was a shy girl and stuck to things I knew.
The second time around I went to other threads and made friends with everyone. Chatted with them. When on to make a nifty chibi thing for everyone. I was happy and then sad as the thread was dying and thusly taken down.
But forever. I know. I have friends from there. People still lurk around that I know and we recognize each other and go HI THEEEEERE OMG HI
It will be a huge awesome part of my life. Roleplay as a word will always take me back to those memories. And I will certainly grow up telling my son about all of the silly conversations and adventures that place had because it was awesome.

Anaia Mischievity's Bio
Name: Anaia Mischievity
Age: 175 (Appears to be in very early 20’s)
Sex: Female
Species: Mutant (goddess)
Height/Weight: 5’11” / 135 lbs
Appearance: Tall and
slender with very pale almost white skin (similar coloration to the moon with a
slight grey/blue undertone) if she becomes enraged the blue facial markings she
normally hides show as well as turning her entire flesh a light blue. Eyes are
a light leafy green. Hair is straight and black with electric blue streaks
coming from it (hair reaches down to her hips) Face is gentle and slender as to
garner trust with the same effect coming from rounded bright eyes.
Powers: Chaos Factor-
Random events perceived as accidents occur. (examples being keys locked in a
car, things falling, being knocked over) Being the goddess of Chaos represents
fluid change thus accidents breaking the stagnation of Order. This can be
controlled somewhat by Anaia although harder when she starts having higher
emotional states such as joy, anger, annoyance, or anything stressful. When at
the school Professor Xavier can help keep it under control for her although it
does not seem to completely prevent the minor everyday accidents nor any heavily
emotional moments. If she enters a state of complete rage then the “accidents”
are more severe and can be life threatening.
Telekinesis- Limited to moving objects and somewhat tied
into her ability to use her own electrical current of the body to conduct and
use that in short bursts or singular long ones.
Bending of Truth and Lie- Anaia can force the truth out of
someone or force them to lie. There is also the ability to make a person
believe that lies are really the truth. Needs physical contact to work.
Other abilities: With bending truth and such, Anaia came to
find that she can also bend other things although she is still learning. Thus
far she can influence sleep upon someone when she wills it. Anaia also knows
how to fight in melee combat.
Personality: Enjoys the constant flow and change of
everything especially human beings. Variety for her is most certainly her
favorite spice of life as it is a chaos in itself. That said, this gives reason
as to why she joined with the X-Men as they were the most varied group with
unpredictable outcomes. Lively and always enjoying the occasional prank if
things start to seem far too dull. Incredibly friendly with everyone and when
needed she is capable of being polite as she was taught Asguardian’s should
act. There is a small wall between her and others, as only very few are allowed
to learn the darker secrets of her being. If you are allowed close to her, expect
that she will become protective if you become seriously hurt but also expect
that she is going to help nudge things along for the sake of seeing how events
will turn out. As a past time she seems to enjoy playing matchmaker or causing
little events to happen that could lead to those who normally are too shy to
admit feelings for each other to do so.
Is very easily amused at small accidents and mayhem. Especially if it is her doing (Random occurrences
of bad hair days like a hair dying accident making someone’s hair bright pink)
History: Anaia is the youngest daughter of the god Loki and
the goddess of Insanity (who I don’t have a name for yet) . With the mix of Mischief and Insanity she
came into being the very young goddess of Chaos. Anaia was born before Thor was exiled onto
earth.
Anaia inherited the Ice Giant bloodline from her father thus
she has blue markings on her face that she hides unless she becomes upset,
although she did not learn about this until later and assumed it was a birth
mark. Most of her early life was spent
with her mother in Asguard although she often was able to spend time with Loki
and Thor as well when they were not busy with other duties. As a child she came
into her own powers and often was an impish child causing small havoc when she
played. Loki especially admired this and helped foster her love for chaos and
change, even teaching her how to hone her ability to bend truths and lies.
With her ability to charm those around her, she nearly had
even Odin wrapped around her little finger, often getting her out of many
punishments for the lesser troubles she had caused. Thor was her very favorite
uncle and usually she was even able to get him to teach her how to fight giving
birth a fire to her love of battles and appeal to those who enjoyed them as
well.
Anaia took all of her teachings to heart, seeming to learn
them and flourish. Between Odin, Thor, and Loki, she had learned to fight, to
bend those to her whims without even using powers, but she also learned when it
was appropriate to do so. For all of the charm she had, it seemed Anaia
inherently knew that Odin was to be heeded making her seem far wiser than her
age would seem to allow.
Unfortunately, she was present for the interruption of Thor’s
ceremony and blamed herself without need of the Ice Gaint’s small invasion that
day. Despite Loki’s reassurances, the Goddess had made to do her own investigation
of what happened, leaving her absent from Thor’s plans to fight the Ice Giants which
led to his exile. When Anaia returned to find Thor gone, she had gone to ask
Odin why and instead had overheard Loki demanding to know why his heritage was
kept from him.
Thus she discovered her own heritage as well and left
Asguard to visit earth in hopes to find Thor. Unfamiliar with being on Earth,
she unconsciously was causing accidents without meaning too which led her to
meeting the X-Men and thusly Professor Xavier. This kept her from locating her
uncle, although eventually she discovered events turned out in Thor’s favor yet
also her father’s betrayal of Odin and his sibling.
Also, with the knowledge she was trapped on Earth with the
Rainbow Road broken, she decided it was best to integrate her life with those
around her and soon began to take in lessons humanity and mutants had to offer
her. This fostered a love and caring to control just how much chaos she allowed
and to keep some sort of balance between Order and herself. With such, Anaia
finally allowed herself to have friends, starting with Mileena.
Other: Best friend ever is Mileena, who she protects and
always tries to have her best interests at heart, even if she does sometimes
give a little trouble to the woman. Her favorite thing to tell her friend is
that if Anaia was not there, then life would most certainly be boring.

Photobucket is being Lame Plus I am a dork
I love playing with flash games that involve dressing dolls. I am a goof like that. As such you now get a whole blog entry with my silly creations because sometimes at 2 AM I cannot draw but i still want pretties. xD
This would be Kia after she decides she wants to make strange colored hair again. She would not be Kia if she didn't have some random color going about! xD
Kia if she got a sort of semi-stage between her full Demon state and Hunter state. Lack of needed color options (I needed black for her skin markings) But I still like it :)
This is a take on a character Anaia that I made for Shaman King and has recently gotten revamped slightly as an alternate character as well. She goes into the X-Men verse and well... everyone is screwed xD
These are her 'Imma out for the night to party <3' Clothes.

"Kia, wake up! Someone brought breakfast! It has bacon!"
"Bacon sounds good... but I am tired... I'll make bacon later..."
"But Kia! Look at who brought you bacon! You wouldn't want him sad would you?"
"... ... why does it sound like something is dripping on the floor?"
"Good Morning, Kia! I heard you like bacon! And it is your birthday, so here you go! Just for you!"
"First of all, my birthday is not today. Second of all, please tell me you are wearing something other than that shirt and is that SYRUP you are dripping on my floor?!"
"Why yes! You noticed! I decided to be 'sweet' and make sure I gave you a wonderful wake up!"
"Kia! You need to try this bacon! It is really good!"
"Aria, stop eating the bacon! Dust get out of my room! I don't want you half-naked in my room with breakfast!"
"I think she is just jealous that I am enjoying your bacon and she isn't."
"I really thought she liked bacon. You told me she liked bacon."
"She does, but she gets grumpy if she wakes up before noon. Don't mind her. I for one like the bacon. Happen to have Kai out there with some eggs?"
"No, but I am sure he would do that if you asked."
"That's it! If you don't leave, I will!"
"... well now she is gone. Maybe you should have worn some pants."
"But I thought she would like it better this way... although my wings are feeling kind of sticky."
"Maybe you should follow her and ask her to bathe you!"
"Excellent idea!"

Story Time!!! ~ More Expressions Champagne POV
By popular demand I am posting a little bit I wrote for Champagne and Hao continuing the fluff. This is still written in third person but more or less in Champagne's POV (there is a term for it but I forget at the moment)
Anyway, ENJOY!
-------------
Anyway, ENJOY!
-------------
The king was being mysterious, asking her to bring her
tattoo equipment again after her last visit. The past couple of weeks had been
busy for her, making time to visit him after her last appointments. Although
exhausting, she found she enjoyed listening to the stories of his past. She was
even getting to know the cats that began frequenting the home as well, making
sure she started to bring little snacks for them.
There was one particular white and orange cat that followed
her everywhere, and she wondered silently if maybe Hao asked it to stay with
her. Either way, she did not mind it and even gave it a collar with little
stars all over it much to the king’s amusement. Looking down to the feline she
gave a smile, “We are going to see all your friends today, Fiona, isn’t that
great? I wonder if Hao wants me to add more to the phoenix today.”
A meow was the reply as the feline bolted ahead to catch a
bird in the air, missing by seconds when it took off into trees. Tail lay limp
as Fiona eyed the tree before Champagne caught up and shook her head, “You will
get stuck up there if you go after it. Then I will be late seeing Hao. Then he
will worry and come looking for me. We don’t want to worry him.”
The cat gave her a reproachful look before slinking off
after her, peering back at the bird as if promising revenge then bolting
forward once more to reach the home before she even did. A laugh as she
continued onward before slowing down when someone stepped out into the path.
Carefully, she made her way to navigate around the fairly tall man, uttering a
polite ‘excuse me’.
Long dark fingers grabbed her shoulder, stopping her, “You
are his girlfriend, aren’t you?” The voice seethed with anger, and she looked
up silently, taking in the image of dark eyes matched with similarly dark skin
while he bared his teeth at her. Black straight hair was down to only half an
inch as though growing back from a buzz cut.
“I’m not sure who you are talking about.” She replied
calmly, smile vanishing into a blank state, “I apologize for being unable to be
of any help.” The girl did not try to pull her shoulder away, carefully making
sure that she did not suddenly trigger any knee-jerk violence.
Although that seemed like it would be happening regardless
as he dug fingers into the bone, “You know exactly who the hell I am talking
about. You walk here every day to see that monster. You’re probably having sex
with him too.” The girl did not react to the words, not allowing him to know if
such things were true or not. While she wasn’t doing anything to that extreme,
she supposed people’s minds would assume such a thing anyway.
Hands kept ahold of her belongings and she shook her head
slightly, “I am fairly certain he has bigger things to worry about rather than
me. I would rather not have your time wasted.” The man sneered at her before he
started to move onwards, making movements to drag her with.
Feet dug into the ground slightly, eyes keeping on him with
absolute calm, “Please leave Hao alone. I know you are mad, but killing him
won’t solve anything nor bring anyone back.” A snarl and she was yanked
forward, causing her to stumble slightly.
“It isn’t him I plan on killing.” He did not look at her,
though his tone expected her to start begging for her life. It was not what he
had gotten, instead he heard her sigh. Finally, he glared down at her to see
her look back at him with concern. Why did she care what happened to him
anyway? The shaman refused to be pitied.
Voice was soft, fingers shifting on her bundle, “That won’t
get you anything you want you know.”
“What would you know? Did you have someone you loved killed
in front of your eyes?” He snapped as they continued to move, her feet
shuffling to make the walk as slow as possible, steps stumbling as he was
yanked forward every time she drew too far behind. Eyes flicked over towards a
towering spirit lumbering beside him, a bear looking as angry at the world as
the man dragging her.
Eyes grew soft as she knew Hao left a trail of blood on his
path to being king, but she knew more would just worsen things. Fingers
tightened, “I am sorry… but I can’t let you do this.” Her needle tool came out
of the bundle and jammed into his arm, making him yell and release her
shoulder. Taking that chance, she gripped the bundle and swung it as hard as possible
to smash it into the man’s head to knock him out. It was stopped as the bear
created an oversoul onto a thick furred glove with claws, knocking the weapon
from her hands and she heard a crunch as something broke when it landed afar.
Anger soared as he brought the clawed hand back down into
her head, claws tearing into flesh and hair as the force knocked her aside
causing her to shout. Champagne brought a hand to her head, face twisting from
the pain as she forced herself up, hand coming away covered in blood. A dazed
expression as she could see the blurry form of him coming forward to wrap claws
around her throat and lift her, vision was not clearing as she tried to blink
it away.
“I was planning to kill you in front of him, but I will be
just as happy to hand over your dead body!” The lack of oxygen made everything
begin to go dark, cold creeping into her skin as hair began to become soaked
with her blood. Arms hung limp as she had no strength to fight it as all of her
energy was spent on her lungs fighting instinct to try to expand when there was
no way to do so.
Black swallowed colors, ears droning on with slowing pounds
of the heart, nose filled with only the scent of blood and the skin was cold.
It would have been nice to have a good dream, she thought, if this was a final
sleep.
A warmth suddenly surged behind her, and she wondered if
maybe her dream was giving her that final wish before it blanketed her skin and
a sudden movement caused lungs to almost explode as they were finally given
their sustenance. Vision cleared only slightly, mostly in washed out forms
except for the blazing gold one holding her and her mind raced suddenly as she
tried to make out what the dangerously low voice of Hao.
“If … want… ….. rlfrie ……. die …ner” A weak frown as she
tried to work her arms to grab the slender ones that wrapped around her in a
cradle. Muscles were not working well at all and she heard a cry pierce through
the quiet of her muffled head. Panic started to form as she twitched fingers
weakly, warmth growing as the golden glow grew brighter, slight shifts in
movement made her begin to feel nauseated as she could not see what was going
on around her.
The patch girl was determined to stop this before Hao killed
someone out of anger, hands stubbornly refusing to respond. Trembling, she
could feel it as some sensations would return to her from the warmth. The
toting shaman had to have been furious to be acting in such a way, normally
seeing so calm when she was around.
Another yell from the man and she twitched at the sound. It
was time for another angle, and she started to work her throat. It hurt like
hell, but she needed it to cooperate even though she was fairly sure it had
been about crushed. A rasping sound came from the throat, giving hope before
another horrible sound came again. Well,
there was a hope she could be coherent as she forced words once more.
“Stop.”
It sounded almost like a bark, but she could feel the world
stop moving, arms tensing around her as she peered into a mass of brown and
flesh. His lips were moving, but she could not make most of it out once more,
face contorting in slight frustration. So instead she just simply continued to
talk with rasping broken syllables.
“No… More… kill… ing. Peace.” All she could do then was wait
for him to decide.
Evidence of anger was still in his features, holding her
even closer to him before warmth blazed to swallow them up and they seemed to
have been in another entirely different place; his home. Warmth still held her
as she felt some of the pain ebb away. Vision would start to clarify to where
she could see the very furious hurt in the face above her.
It took a moment for her to get her arms to respond as she
raised a hand up to touch his cheek, a tired smile spreading on her features.
The same man capable of reviving some was mending her, even her throat started
to feel better, “Thank you.”
He did not smile in return, body still trembling. Words came
out at a low volume, almost too hard for her to hear, “He was killing you. Yet
you wanted him to live when he should have died. I should have killed him.”
Some of the warmth ebbed as she certainly felt like she
wasn’t nearing death any time soon, although her head still felt odd with the
thick substance drying on it, “You don’t need more blood on your hands.
Mirroring his actions that made you angry would have only made things worse.”
Her body was pulled closer to his, face buried into her
shoulder as he did so, “If you had died before I got there, I would have killed
him without hesitating. Plus, he made you break your things…” The last sentence
made her blink before she started to giggle softly, her face resting against
the side of his head.
“Well the needle and stuff can be replaced unlike people.”
Face turned towards him and she spoke softly, “I appreciate you saving me. I am
pretty sure I wouldn’t want to stop spending time with you and the hundreds of
cats.”
Now he would look towards her, nose touching the tip of
hers, “There are only 73 cats.” The voice was a slight bit pouting though the
tension and trembling went away when she moved forward, lips catching his with
a relieved joy.
The kiss broke and she spoke softly, “So, why was I coming
over with the needle anyway?” Her forehead rested on his, still trying to get
over the breathless feeling she got every time lips touched his.
“I wanted you to give me a tattoo of a cat.” He replied
seriously, making her grin slightly as she held back a laugh. Hands ruffled
thick hair in thought before he distracted with another dizzying kiss, making
her glad that he was still holding her. Arms wrapped snugly around his neck as
she was fairly certain that she was on the path to falling in love with him.
If she had not already.

Story Time: Chapter 1 of Kaidia's Princess
Here it is! The first chapter that begins my book that I shall publish one day! Please enjoy!
======================
Chapter 1
======================
The world was
at a calm that day, which probably should have given me reason to worry. After all, there was that whole bit I heard
about the calm before a storm and usually such things tended to be
correct. Yet, today I just simply wanted
to lay down on the hill, listen to leaves crunch under my weight, and watch as
the bard beside me strummed his instrument that I never bothered to learn the
name of. It was because I wanted to
enjoy a nice day today with my bard, something that was scarce due to the
assumption that dragons never were meant to mix with humans.
Of course if
that were the case, then it made me wonder as to why we had the ability to take
on a human guise in the first place. In any case, I made a point to never
listen to that particular notion, choosing instead to spend time with him. The
bard, Myde, was very much a honorable man. He strayed away from conflicts
unless someone needed defending, and was very awful at handling any sort of
weaponry. Instead, he was gifted with words and music. A gift to bring about
serenity and order to chaos was a trait I admired most.
This was merely
part of the reason I loved the man sitting alongside of me with his dirty gold
hair sticking in every which way except up and storm cloud eyes that saw into
the hearts of all even my impulsive one. His face was one that could be fierce
with such sharp angles, yet expression always softened this and the rest of the
slim built features. If he had been a warrior, he could have been a tall and
terrifying force that would slip through the smallest openings in a defense.
Instead the said man looked over with a chuckling smile that glowed with joy.
“You know if you keep staring at me like that, you will go
blind.”
I raise a brow
and snort in my very unladylike fashion, “Myde that applies to the sun, not
you. Even if I call you bright, you aren’t blinding my dear musician.” Rolling
over to my side, I prop myself up with my elbow and look at him a little more
closely, glad that he wasn’t indeed the sun or else my eyes would be bleached
out by now.
I could not
help but stare, he was a gentle person with an expression that promoted ease
and relaxation. Silently, I gave a smile
and started to draw myself into a crawling position, slinking up bit by bit
until I was close to his face, pressing lips gently onto his. The song faltered and the instrument was
gently cast aside as calloused fingers took hold of my cheeks. A smile formed
and I drew back after a minute and gave a fierce grin.
Then the proverbial
storm broke through as I could hear a throaty growl in the distance. This
little hill had a backing of trees, while nearly a half a mile away, still would
give good cover for one to spy if they were quiet enough. This spy, it seemed,
was going to be a grump as usual. He always was, though I would have preferred
if he waited a little longer before stalking us.
Things were
never simple. Myde started to frown as eyes flicked over to the source of the
sound as well, “I didn’t realize she sent a chaperone.” Words were sour and a
sigh followed as he drew back from me, arms making movements to grasp the
instrument once more.
It was hard for
him to tolerate the scrutiny of the others, and I would not have blamed him for
leaving with the growing source of violent trouble that had arose in recent
times. Yet, he would still be there at my side, albeit with a frown, but he
loved me just the same. A smile started to pull at my cheeks with a devious
light.
“Well, they can
just watch then. We might as well give them a good show.” I brought a hand to
settle into his hair and my form sank into Myde’s before he could even grab the
wooden object. The bard was pushed into the leaf covered grass as I deepened
the kiss, letting it last precious moments longer before hearing a growl turn
into a disgruntled snarl.
We parted, leaving him with a happily dazed grin while I
was beaming breathlessly. It turned quickly into a fit of giggles on my end as
I took in the situation and the quiet draconic swearing coming from the trees. The
poor man looked at me confused, wondering if he did something wrong. I gave a
breathless kiss on the cheek to reassure him, “It isn’t you I am laughing at,
just Onyx.” He relaxed only slightly.
Reluctance
tugged at me, but I knew I had to deal with the problem soon, so I stood and
adjusted myself thusly, smoothing out the white tunic I chose that day and picking
a leaf off of brown leggings. Bare toes curled happily in the grass as I always
enjoyed the cool texture it provided, “I’ll go have a quick chat with him
awhile. Stay here and keep playing your wonderful music for me, my brave bard.”
Hand rose in an idle wave as he finally seemed to fall into the soothing
actions of playing the string instrument.
Meanwhile, I
took little time in coming to the trees, allowing steps to crunch loudly with
the carpet of leaves growing more dense. I searched for the gold ones I knew I
would find glaring back at me, and eventually I caught a glint from a thick
section of trees. I would stop and cross my arms over my chest.
“You hide and growl like a jealous dog,
Onyx. It does not suit you…” a pause and I gave a cheerfully innocent smile
as I continued in my native tongue, “Well,
it does, but they don’t make dog collars that big.”
A snarl as the
words did their work and his head burst from the trees like a comical head
ornament on a hunter’s wall, teeth bared as he hissed, “I am not jealous of that pathetic thing you keep as a pet.”
Low growls
began at the back of my throat as I did my best to keep myself from losing my
short temper. I blame my dragon half for such, although it could have just been
my father, but there was not many calm dragons to compare with so I usually
just did my best not to ignite the already glowing embers, “You will not speak of Myde
as such High Mage Onyx Vertiga. Else I will be certain to remove valuable
appendages and drop them in the nearest pit of molten lava, do you understand?”
Further he
emerged from the greenery, black scales finally catching the sunlight as he
brought himself to a towering height over myself, almost surpassing the tallest
trees, “I would like to see you try, Lady
Itisha. Your pet will turn on you as all humans do.”
Had I mentioned
I have a very bad temper? I did not appreciate Myde being called a pet, much
less a traitor as I very well knew that he was not. A snarl escaped my lips and
I felt my own vision clarify as the tips of my fingers itched to tear out the
throat of the dark one before me. It was the mere fact of Myde being so near
that I had not leapt forward in the form I held to gouge out an eye.
It would have
been difficult for me to reach anyway, even if I did try to grasp the bony
protrusion from his chin. In this light I could see the long twisted horns
better along with the smaller protrusion of scales that formed a pointed
texture along his head and trailed off like whiskers along the rigid jaw line
of his face. Short narrow spines trailed down the center of his back to the
tail tip, flourishing into an arrow head shape. Even his wing span was massive,
large paper thin flesh stretched out to reveal veins in the attempt to make him
look menacing.
A normal person
would have run away at this tall beast before me. Even some dragons would have begged
for forgiveness for reciting such challenges for the High Mage to accept. Yet,
I was not normal under any standards for I had a streak of stubbornness that
stretched far and wide. No, instead I used every ounce of frustration in me to
anchor myself to the very ground before I did something I would regret.
I was fairly
certain that without a thought, I had already begun to slip into the draconic
form that was requested of me. A mental check and I was certain of it, as teeth
were sharpening and nails were elongated. It was time to reign myself in before
I started tearing my clothes so I spoke plainly, “I ought to make you regret
your words, but as this is the only place I find comfort in with the one person
I find comfort with, I will not. Take your words and terrible mood and go back
to spying for Empress Sapphrin elsewhere. My business is not your own.”
A snarl as head
was lowered almost close enough for me to smack, “You just do not want your pet
to get caught in the crossfire. It is too late. Sapphrin knows of him and you
know very well that anyone other than me would have put a quicker end to him within
his first word to you. Not everyone is afraid to incur your anger or to draw
your blood.” White teeth shone as he rose his head once more with a superior
air before peering to the human who played his music, but not without stealing
curious looks to us.
“Goodness Onyx,
I should feel so grateful to your generosity that I let you insult and belittle
someone in exchange for not giving me a reason to kick your scaled behind.” A
fake cheerful voice escaped my lips before I relaxed slightly, allowing
features to fall into the more comfortable human one, “I will deal with
Sapphrin on my own. Which by the way, I am sure with that look means she has
told you to give me a message.”
He shifted
slightly with a grimace that told me he had wished for me to lose my temper. A
chance to fight me was always welcome in his eyes if he could finally prove
that a full dragon untainted by a lesser blood would easily win over my own
dirtied lineage. While I was confident in my abilities, I was not risking the safety
of anyone else to prove it.
“You are to
return home. Empress Sapphrin is
needed to take care of important matters elsewhere while you take watch over matters
there. Laru is still with Lady Talith, but she will be going with the Empress
on her journey.” A matter-of-fact tone from the beast was enough to make me
sigh. Hand brushed back my silvery bangs before I shrugged in response and
started to quickly walk back over to Myde, “Without the human.”
“Myde comes
with. Sapphrin will not be there. He knows how to take care of Talith just as
much as Laru does. I won’t hear any arguments. In which case tell her I will be
home in a few hours.” I gave a victorious smile as the meaning of my words
caught on and he growled quietly. The few hours were enough to take my good old
time walking home with the bard as well as infuriate the empress further due to
my refusal to fly there. Myde was not fearful of flying, rather enjoying it,
but none-the-less I took my enjoyments where I could slip them in.
A grunt as he
started to hunker down and tension filled his wings, “Fine, I will pass it
along, Lady Itisha.” An abrupt take off followed, his force kicking up dirt and
leaves while causing the trees to sway. A smile played on my lips as I made my
way back to the musician and offered my hand.
“Have to walk
back, apparently Sapphrin has important business to take care of today. Timed
it just to be annoying I am sure… too bad since I was really looking forward to
a good swim.” My arm motioned out towards the water that nestled itself below
the hill and the smile on my lips grew to something playful.
He laughed
softly, worry threaded into his every motion when he took my hand and pulled
himself to his feet, “Maybe next time then. Although, if she is gone, you do
have the spring…” Worries started to fall away while he gently placed the
instrument in the fabric cover and drawstring pulled snug before draping the
thick fabric strap across his chest. A smile lit after he took my hand once
more and we started our walk back together.
It was a
relaxing journey, one that was in stark contrast to the growing violence I have
witnessed in the passing days. Dragons while usually haughty were not supposed
to be looking for trouble, yet I started to see more and more bloodshed as the
empress gave a mere passing glance to those being slain over questions of the
standing the species held in comparison to others. Too many humans were afraid
to call out those dragons for blatantly breaking the truce forged under the claws
of late Emperor Oldim. Something that would have never been allowed had Azrin
still been alive.
I looked back
at those times often, when my father, Azrin, would tell me the stories of when
humans invaded Kaidia to build their homes within our land. A time when dark
magic had been used to enslave our entire species to the wims of a dark mage
and soon the entire culture of people that came with him.
My father’s
mother had been lost to that dark time, breaking Oldim’s spirit until he could
no longer stand the unnecessary violence Azrin and Sapphrin were suffering at
the hands of humans. It was with the help of those who were sympathetic to
their plight that the dragons were able to rebel that led to the warlock’s
death and an uneasy truce formed between the two species. It would stand that
in exchange for our retained freedom that the humans would keep themselves out
of our matters if we protected them from larger threats that promised to wipe
them off of the land.
It had been a
long time ago, before I was born. A long time before I was even conceived by
the human woman Azrin came to love and even soul-bonded with. She was an
adamant soul who bore both my sister and I into this world. A strong woman with
high spiritual power that was only equal to the love she had that kept her at
the side of my father in their final moments. It was the woman I named my
younger sister after in her infancy.
Talith.
A world full of
abhorrence for others flowed easily between dragons, but I knew better and I
made sure to teach her just as well. I was glad that the lessons took, much to
the ire of our father’s sister. It was even more of a blessing to have
befriended the bard alongside of me, having known him since we were both young and
growing into the love we had shared since the first time we met.
A gentle
squeeze of the hand brought me out of my thoughts as I was drawn gently aside
from a tree that was in my path, “Thinking again, Itisha?” Myde would ask
softly with a knowing smile. I returned it with a small nod, giving his hand a
squeeze while we slipped between more trees, giving to loud steps and letting
our presence be known to the inhabitants around us.
“As always,
Myde. Just hoping for a day where people will learn as Talith has that the past
is the past. There are no humans alive that remember the time without the
truce. They only have stories of Oldim while there are dragons who treat them
as though they were the ones who originally inhibited their freedom.” My expression
soured as it always would when returning back home. It was supposed to be a
relaxing day, which more often than not, was ruined by some sort of event
bringing me back to the dark reality that was Kaidia’s problems.
The sudden stop
of his feet caught me off guard as I felt myself being stopped even as inertia
continued to want to draw me forward. Curiously, I peered into the stormy eyes
of the human bard that offered a brilliantly warm smile. Soon, arms encased my
being and distance closed as soft lips pressed into mine, bringing doubts to a
halt. A beat before he withdrew and the glowing smile continued, “You can do it
one being at a time my beautiful dragon. After all, today Onyx didn’t even try
to claw my back off. I find that is an improvement.”
I winced at the
memory before pressing a kiss to his nose, “I am not sure if he is really
acting better or if he just wants to avoid he fury of the pocket dragon from
chewing on his neck again. He was especially grumpy today.” He would laugh,
giving me a squeeze as we both stood amongst the plant life. Finally, he
released me and laced nimble digits into mine before he continued to walk once
more.
“What nicknames
did he have for me today?”
“Oh, less
nicknames and more describing. You are still my pet, though a pathetic one in
his eyes.” I offered, omitting the bit about betrayal as it just would have
upset him. The rest of it rolled off of his back as he continued his laughter
despite.
“Hmm, I wouldn’t
mind being your pet so long as you promise treats.” All was said with a smile
that clouded his eyes in such a way that drew my thoughts off track. A scheming
grin was in response as I rose my free hand to pluck a leaf from his mane,
twirling the crumbling object thoughtfully as though deciding on my next words.
Although, I
already knew what I wanted to say, “Maybe, if you behave you will get plenty of
treats. Just make sure you don’t wake anyone up.” My tongue stuck out playfully
and hands flicked the bare stem into the air, “But first, we have to deal with
the hoard of grumpy nobles, family members, and anyone with scales who will
likely want to eat you for a pre-flight snack.”
An all too
human laugh broke out between us, bringing an ease onto me that would be lost
on my being without his continued existence. Conversation burned time away far
too quickly and soon we would see the grey stone castle in the distance. I
sighed in apprehension, hand gripping his tightly as I could see a dragon
taking off from a tower of the building.
Things would be
alright, as he reminded me often. How much I wished that he would have been
right.

Story Time! - Expressions
A story of Hao and Champagne to develop a set personality and also be like DAWW FLUFF
---------------------
---------------------
There was quiet around the king’s little home among the
Patch. Most people avoided it unless there was business to be had, which was
why she was carrying her bundle of needles, inks, and various other tools up to
the place. Life thrived there oddly enough, vines twisting about the home
making it look more it was made of plants instead of plaster. Arriving to the
door, she hesitated, brushing sunny hair from her face and tucked it behind her
ears. There was not a chance to knock though, as the door opened and before her
stood their king only wearing a pair of pants, chest bare for all to see.
“Ah, so you must be the one that is going to give me the
tattoo…” he looked her over and shrugged dismissively, “At least you won’t be
distracting.” The girl had potential but not much for ability, making her
useless overall. The long brown haired shaman shuffled back into the home
calling back, “You may enter.”
Champagne looked onward for a little while before following
after him. She watched all of the matches and saw that he seemed unhappier at
that moment than in a fight. One would think that a person would be happy being
the Shaman King. Power was not everything.
The place was without
decoration except for what came standard with any of the homes. Seating areas,
a fire pit, the small kitchen and simple wooden table with wooden chairs. Hao
was sprawled out on the couch with a devil-may-care expression, dark eyes
peering at her. Hair trailed over his shoulders, framing the thin body that was
built from frequent fighting, scars etched permanently into skin. Just as he
was studying her, she was studying him in return. The girl appeared pretty enough
although she was not drop dead stunning. There were round eyes that shone with
life and hair let loose to dance with her every movements, much too happy to be
distracting to him he decided.
Besides he had been tricked by those kinds of eyes before.
The girl laid out her tools and pulled a small sketch book and started drawing
in it without a word to him. Silence reigned and while although he preferred
guests to stop their pointless chatter, her quiet was simply maddening. Eyes
peered over and she would return to her book to sketch once more. Impatience
sparked and he pushed himself from the couch, snatching the book away from her
causing charcoal to be dragged across paper.
As he leafed through it, he waited for the demand to return
the book. The eyes full of pain and animosity while trying to threaten him into
giving it back. Instead, she sat patiently and watched seemingly without a
care, hands folded on her lap as she held onto the charcoal. Finally, her voice
was drawn out, “I was drawing you a phoenix since it symbolizes rebirth and
fire. It appeared to suit you. Although I can change it if you do not like it.”
Voice was soft and gentle, catching him off guard before he looked over the
page, tracing every line of detail of the bird. Life was given to it, looking
as though it could fly off of the page.
Tossing it back to her, he shrugged, “It will have to do.”
His apathetic mood was going to be difficult to keep if she continued to act as
she was. Most Patch began shouting at him. Blaming him for the terrible crimes
he committed. Some had even begun to cry at his actions of being so cold. This
one was acting calm, voice soft and gentle.
It was professional, “As you wish.” Hands picked up the
notebook to turn the pages until the drawing was at the top, “Would you prefer
it on your chest or back?” Bright inquiring eyes stayed on him. His answer was
in the motions, moving to lay a cover on the floor then laying with his back
against the floor, crossing arms behind his head as a pillow. Then he looked at her once more, waiting
impatiently.
Tools were grabbed, her toting over a little generator with
a tooled needle and black ink, “If you want this in color I can always come
back another time then…” Girl was seated then the quiet buzzing as he watched
her unhesitatingly curl over his chest, running fingers along the ‘canvas’ that
was his skin. It should have not brought life to his skin as it did, life
tracing through it from the touch of one who could not move souls.
The girl was too distracted to see his faltering expression
as silken hair curtained across the body and the gentle stings began as she
started the art on his chest, “You can keep breathing you know. I won’t mess
up.” There it was again, the song-like voice whispering into the air making him
curious. Words sank in and he realized he indeed stopped taking breaths.
When had he done that? Slowly, he took a breath and allowed
her to continue her work, the silence filling the home except for the buzzing
and breathing. Her particular brand of silence was uncomfortable. It could not
due to her voice being like little rays of sunshine in the dawn, both haunting
and hopeful.
“What is your name?” He demanded rather than asked, trying
to see past the hair to catch sight of the eyes fluttering slightly with every
movement and detail.
There was a pause, hand hovering before she started to
continue, “Champagne Pailyu… or Pailyu Champagne if you follow the habits of
last name first.” Such a pause was the most reaction he had gotten from her the
entire time. Part of him wanted to take the game further to see if there was a
possibility to get any fun reactions.
Hand slipped from behind his head and he reached out,
drawing her long locks from the front of her face and held them back, fingers
enjoying the texture against his fingers. He managed to be absolutely serious
about it. Still, she did not react much except to pause and readjust the tool.
It seemed he was going to have to get serious.
Instead of getting frustrated he began to smirk devilishly.
A ruined tattoo could be solved if he so wished so instead of being still he
started to wrap the hair around his hand slowly before tilting her head
forcefully. It caused her to stop again, eyes peering at him with the tint of
confusion while the rest of her face retained the polite countenance.
“This will take longer if you don’t stop. If I finish then
you won’t have to see me any longer.” There was something else mixed in her
voice, something familiar, although she seemed to keep herself from letting the
expression falter. Almost as good a liar as him, he decided.
“I’ve decided you are interesting so you will have to stay.”
“Thank you, but I really should finish this. “ Her voice
starting to grow softer as she tried to tilt her head back down towards the
outline of the fiery bird. Other hand moved and grasped the handle of her tool,
gently wrenching it out of the hand and setting it aside, flicking the little
generator off. Dark orbs turned to see if there was any change, but he found
she simply looked at him in return patiently.
There was staring before she started to reach out slowly for
her tool, but he stopped her, fingers wrapping around her wrist. Eyes twitched
slightly, mask slipping only slightly and he began to grin, teeth showing in
his personal victory, “So you do have emotions in that pretty head of yours.
You are very good at hiding them you little worker bee. I wonder what other
ones I can get you to show.”
The reaction was not indignation nor shock but instead
laughter. Giggles spilled from her as she lowered her head onto the puckering
skin of his chest, not quite touching. A frown started to form as he believed
her to be laughing at him.
“I have no idea why everyone says such bad things about you.
You don’t act like a monster at all.” The words stopped the shaman cold and he
looked at her with scrutiny. The Patch girl was not laughing at him maliciously,
although it still confused him. Giggles finally ended and she gave a sunny
smile, “So, may I have my hair back please?”
“I’ll think about it.” He responded, trying to look
thoughtful, heart beat faster with the sound of her voice. What other emotions
could he draw out from her? The hardest probably would be anger, he decided,
since she seemed unnaturally tolerant for someone from her family. It perhaps
made up for the lack of ability she had from the strong bloodline. An anomaly perhaps.
Shifting, she rested her head on his chest, waiting, “Let me
know when you are ready, because I think my neck is getting stiff.” The
partially finished tattoo only stung slightly, having been used to more pain
than that. Mostly her weight shot warmth through touch, breaths dancing across
the body making it feel as though electric waves were being introduced into his
skin.
Devious smiles while the hand unwound from hair, letting it
fall before instantly wrapping arms around her shoulders. The shaman rolled
over quickly, perching himself over her with hands placed at either side of her
head as he inspected her once more. The
expression was one Hao found he especially enjoyed, surprise tugged at the
smile she previously had, and then the nervous blush that tinted the cheeks. “Well
at least I can move my head now… although I don’t think I am really your type.
Most shamans get bored of me after a while.” There was the quiet streak of
loneliness in her voice yet she seemed as though it hardly bothered her at all.
Curious and strange. Most people disliked being alone to the
point of becoming depressed, whereas she seemed to accept it as a fact of life
and move on. Smile vanished and he studied her longer, “You don’t care that you
are tossed aside?”
“Not really. Unless someone needs a tattoo, most people
don’t bother with me. I haven’t been that good with any herbal ointments even
though I can cook. I guess it is more of the fact that my grandmother has a
spirit help her make it so they turn out tons better than anything I have made.
So unless you need a cake or a tattoo I am useless as a shaman.” Her voice
still seemed cheerful, bright eyes looking to him with the undeniable honesty. It
was odd how they were similar and different the bright young girl with no hatred
for the world left behind because she was too weak while he held all of the
anger he could as he was left behind for having too much strength.
How was it she still brought warmth when he already held so
much fire on his own. Perhaps to fuel his own fire it was taking the very
warmth from himself. Thoughts distracted him from the hands that reached up to
play with strands of the dark hair that hung around them. A gentle tug as she
worked out a small knot in the unkempt hair brought him back, seeing that focused
look once more.
The smile returned as he touched her nose with his own, dark
eyes smoldering and peering at her. It was an amusing game, seeing her starting
to finally become flustered, “Well, I believe you are the most tolerable
of all the Patch, plus I am under the impression that you would like to learn
all about me. Hm?”
“You will get bored of me.” Such a matter of fact tone,
making him draw back and frown again, “Which is okay I suppose. You seem
interesting as well and getting to know you would be nice while I can.
Obviously you are nothing like what people say about you. I’m still alive and
whole.” His position gave him a better view of the blush that started to creep
down her neck, stopping by the white blouse and the soft leather vest covering
her.
Some people looked strange when then would blush, turning
into a tomato or becoming blotchy, yet for her it only served to highlight
bright eyes and the sprawling hair. “I suppose I have stopped the killing bit
since my brother assisted some resolution to my problems. Although, no one has
seemed to find it in their heart to try and test my patience yet.”
“Like you have been trying to test mine?” She inquired with
a red faced smile as she paused with her hand in the hair, eyes slipping slightly
to his chest, the redness was going down some, “This is probably the longest
conversation you have ever had without some sort of yelling or threats.”
It was true, and he shrugged slightly as he looked her over,
“So you have never gotten angry? Never yelled at someone?” A grin as he added
with a low whispering voice into her ear, lips so very near to touching the
smooth skin, “Although I suppose there are other ways to make you yell.”
Face and neck became darker as she brought her hand up to
her mouth to keep from saying something totally ridiculous. Her heart wanted to
respond in like, which was inappropriate and impulsive, the rest of her wanted
to just nod and speak politely again to put him off.
Rarely had she ever found herself in such a predicament,
usually she blew it off and continued on with her day, but instead she found
herself wanting to respond to him. It was not appropriate as she knew
traditionally the Shaman King picked a strong shaman as a wife, though there
had been the few odd cases. She was getting ahead of herself… there obviously
was no thought of marriage going through the fire shaman’s head.
In silence, she could feel him tensing, breathing filling
her ear as he waited for a reaction. What felt like only a short amount of time
seemed painfully drawn out. Rationalizing seemed to be the method and she
questioned herself. Would it really be so bad, if even for a short time, to
allow herself this? The brain decided on the reply and she turned her head
slightly, their cheeks brushing together until her lips pressed against his skin
lightly before she spoke.
“Well, I could yell at you to lay down so I could finish the
tattoo.” A playful and innocent smile spread across her features as she went to
place another kiss on his cheek, finding that she really did rather like the
feeling of his skin. Except, her lips did not land on his cheek, as he turned
his face towards her, capturing the small sound of surprise.
Thoughts halted as heart pounded away in her ears as it
seemed to swell in her chest as though to stop her breathing. Stomach tightened
as those seconds would pass, her hand gently pressing against his chest to
separate them. Reluctance, but Hao dropped the kiss, hovering close still with
half lidded eyes watching her take deep breaths to try and keep her chest under
control.
“Apparently, my heart has a hyper drive function… I almost
had enough gigawatts to power my flux capacitor and go back in time.” She
joked, receiving a blank look from the fire shaman. A sigh as she shook her
head a bit, “Well, I know something you are going to watch when we finish that
phoenix of yours.”
He just sort of nodded slightly, waiting for her guard to be
down again once more to take her lips into his once more. It was very natural,
without the usual taste of lipsticks or other balms that were chemically made
to frequent lips. There was a sort of bitter sweet aftertaste that reminded him
of berries freshly picked and eaten. Soon he was beginning to wonder if she had
not simply sprouted from the earth itself, soaking up all of the sunlight and
warmth that it offered.
The two looked to each other, breaths mingling before
Champagne lifted both arms and wrapped them carefully around his neck allowing
for fingers to play with hair once more. Hao took the initiative, dipping back
down to her lips once more. A feeling of fingers tensing to gently pull on
chestnut locks make him grin slightly before breaking the kiss once more.
The girl took a couple gulps of air once more, each breath
becoming more and more steady before she pressed fingers against his lips to
stop another kiss, grin still keeping on her lips, “How… about this. I finish
your tattoo and then you can have another kiss?”
He opened his mouth to retort that the tattoo could have
waited, but there was something in her eyes that made him sigh reluctantly and
rise away from her instead. After a moment, he let himself lay down on the
cover as he watched her roll over, hair in slight disarray before she made her
way back over to his chest, grabbing her tool.
Soon she got to work, and he silently thought that perhaps
there was more than one kind of rebirth.
