I am a thrilled mother as of August 26, 2010 when my little boy Owen was born! And boy it has been such a wonderful adventure! I had a wonderful companion of course, my loving now-husband, Cory.
So far, I have figured out the whole breast feeding thing, since I really didn't know anyone who did it exclusively (and the internet can be rather helpful in that) and I have figured out my little one's quirks.
Of course now is the teaching phase, and I found out I have much more to learn still as well. I have taken a break from school for now, at least until my little guy starts his own education, then I would probably go part time to finish up my education.
I want my son to have me there with him, to teach him, and be with him when he has questions, and to teach him. At least then perhaps he can avoid microwaving chocolate in its foil wrapper because it was in the freezer and wanted it warm.
Or burn oatmeal into a plastic bowl because he didn't know to use water.
Or call Pizza Hut because he was hungry and due to the fact that he was afraid of the microwave because of oatmeal burning incident. xD
I felt rather lonely as a kid because at the time my brother was much younger than me so there wasn't much I could do (and I liked dolls back then) and my father was always asleep and my mom was at work. I didn't want to have my son deal with that.
Luckilly, my son is luckier as he has a daddy who is loving, and when he is home from work, loves to play with his little boy. And I am home to teach, give love, and guidance when needed.
My husband as well is an awesome person who deals with very much and works very hard so that I can stay home with our son. The person who lets me know that everything will be alright because I am happy and I will make our son happy too.
In all that has happened to me in life I would not change it since it has led me to a happier place in life :)
